Assistive Technology Initiative
The Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) at SSU
SSU supports an equitable environment for all diverse students, employees and others who interact with us. Achieving accessibility will require collaboration among faculty, Disabled Student Services, bookstore, academic and student services departments, Information Technology, other institutional staff, and students with disabilities.

A Message From Justice Carlos Moreno about the significance of ATI for CSU students, families, and the community-at-large
The ATI has attracted the attention of advocates for the inclusion of students with disabilities, who are very pleased with our policy and the hard work that so many are engaged in on our campuses. One of our supporters is Justice Carlos Moreno of the California Supreme Court. He allowed our sister campus, CSU Channel Islands, to record a short speech that is targeted to the CSU faculty and broader community, congratulating us on our efforts. The message is both timely and uplifting.
About the CSU Accessible Technology Initiative
The Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI) is comprised of CSU Coded Memoranda AA-2013-03 and AA-2015-22 and serves as a roadmap for ensuring accessibility of information technology and resources, pursuant to state and federal law and California State University (CSU) Executive Order No. 1111.
Disability support and accommodation is a significant component of the CSU academic mission. Compliance with the various state and federal disability laws rests upon the assumption that compliance efforts are current, effective, and periodically updated to respond to changing conditions. Through ATI our campus will work collaboratively with other CSU campuses to ensure that procedures are in place to make information technology resources and services accessible to all students, faculty, staff and visitors.
