Colleges have policies that all students must follow that focus on expectations of behavior and etiquette.
Focus on consistently avoiding the following:
- Speaking out without being recognized
- Interrupting other speakers
- Engaging in erratic or irrational behavior
- Behaving in a manner that distracts the class from the subject matter or discussion
- Engaging in harassing or threatening behavior or using personal insults (including via email, phone, text, etc.)
- Refusing to comply with directions from faculty members
How to Further Develop
- Review Sonoma State University Student Conduct Policy, the SSU Disruptive Student Behavior Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Ask for feedback from current teachers/professionals if you experience difficulties in these areas.
- Develop strategies to be able to follow these policies.
- Disability Services may be able to identify options to support you.
