• Practice money management at home before going to college.
• Financial aid is complex; be sure to understand financial aid processes and policies. 
• If you are on financial aid, be sure to connect with that department to understand your aid package. 
• If you plan to work, assess what employment options may be available on campus to balance work and school. 
• If possible, wait until after your first college semester is completed before you start working. 
• Campus career centers can often identify campus and local job opportunities for students.
