  • Set goals: Set clear, realistic goals and prioritize tasks.  Try S.M.A.R.T. goals 
  • Break down tasks: Break large tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. This can make the task seem less intimidating and provide a roadmap for getting started.   
  • Create a schedule: Use a planner or scheduler to set aside time for studying, coursework, and socializing. You can also use a phone calendar to set reminders for assignments.   
  • Reward yourself: Reward yourself for completing a few hours of work or study.   
  • Choose your surroundings: Identify surroundings that work best for you to be productive. Don’t assume your living space will necessarily be a good study space.   
  • Increase dopamine: Increase your dopamine by exercising, listening to music, etc.   
  • Use tools to stay organized: Use apps to help you stay organized.   
  • Focus on one task at a time. 
  • Start with the simplest task: This will give you a sense of accomplishment.   
  • Use a scheduler with alarms:  This will help you stay focused on an assignment.  
  • Try the Pomodoro Study Technique- Study for 25 minutes followed by a 5-minute movement break away from your study area. Complete four cycles, then take a 20-minute break. Be sure to use a timer.
