More Information

It’s important to communicate clearly and professionally with college personnel verbally and in writing.

  • Be mindful of the language, grammar, and tone you use.

  • Do not expect to get a response to emails immediately or after hours.

  • Professor office hours should be used consistently to build a relationship with faculty as well as improve your ability to connect with the course material.

How to Further Development

Write a practice email to potential faculty about an issue, question or disclosure of your learning style. Get a current teacher/professional’s feedback about its content.
